A New Look at the Plus/Minus System

Five students in the Lott Leadership Institute put together an article based on the research they gathered about the new plus/minus grading scale that Ole Miss has adopted for undergraduate classes. They offer both sides of the argument, but they did not use any quotes or definite sources to back up the information that they included in the story.

Questions I would have asked in order to have made this story more credible:

To students:

1. How do you predict that this new scale will influence your GPA?

2. How many of your teachers use this new scale?

To faculty/administration:

3. What is the main reason for putting this new system in to effect?

4. Will there be any point in the future that all teachers will be required to use the system?

5. Have you discovered that this system has helped or hurt your students' final grade in the course?
